DWC 2026 Scholarship Winners

Inspired by our students, hopeful for our future.

Beginning in 2007, the DWC Scholarship has awarded Horry County public high school seniors over $40,000 for outstanding essays. The topics are always current, often provocative, and provide students an opportunity to showcase their understanding of the democratic values we hold dear.

This year we asked students to respond to three questions:

  1. Describe a political issue facing the U.S. today that is of significant concern to you. Why?

  2. How have your personal political values influenced or informed your stance on this issue?

  3. How do you see yourself advocating for this issue in the future?
